The Indian team is unlikely to get a new coach anytime soon with the BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee member Sourav Ganguly today saying it will take another couple of months to find a suitable candidate for the high-profile position. This means the team will be without a full-time coach during its tour of Zimbabwe beginning June 11. "It will happen in the next couple of months. I am not too sure if it happens before the Zimbabwe tour because it is not too far away," said Ganguly, who is on the advisory panel, alongside Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman. Post the short tour of Zimbabwe, India travel to the West Indies for a four-match Test series in July-August. Since Duncan Fletcher's departure, India played under the guidance of team director Ravi Shastri, whose tenure ended with the World T20 in March-April.

Veteran administrator Niranjan Shah, who has ruled Saurashtra cricket for over four decades, says he is as good as out of the state body post the Supreme Court's latest order on the implementation of Lodha reforms in Indian cricket. Speaking to PTI, Shah said there is no need for him to resign as secretary of the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) with Lodha recommendation making him ineligible to hold any post in cricket administration. Among other recommendations, Lodha panel has put an age cap of 70 years for the officer-bearers in the BCCI as well its state associations. Shah is 72 years old.

Lauding Shashank Manohar for his stand against conflict of interest, International Cricket Council CEO Dave Richardson today said the ICC Chairman, who also heads the BCCI, is a principled man and is trying to reform the governance structure in both the bodies. The BCCI, under Manohar's Presidency, has been forced to undertake structural reforms after the Supreme Court-appointed Justice (retd) R M Lodha committee suggested wholesale changes in its administration. "Any improvements on the governance of any country, as far as the ICC is concerned at this stage, is fair enough. "I know that our new chairman Mr. Manohar is a very principled man and seems to be interested or trying to at least adhere to the principles of no conflict of interest when it comes to governance of the game," Richardson said at a promotional event in Chennai. "I think he is quite keen that the ICC should also look at those aspects of governance.
